The 2020 screenings will be held for the first time at The Victoria And Albert Hotel, Mt Victoria on Sunday 27 September and Monday 28 September 2020, the week before the long weekend and before daylight saving.
Stand by for the accommodation package details and screening program both yet to be finalised. Bookings will open at that time.
Since 1976, the group has organised a residential film weekend during the October long weekend. The earliest screenings were held at the Hawkesbury Campus of the University of Western Sydney but in recent years they have been held at The Metropole Guesthouse, corner Gang Gang and Luline Streets, Katoomba, near Katoomba train station.
A guest speaker associated with one of the films is usually invited to introduce a screening.
Bruce Beresford 2017 The 2017 event was was attended by Bruce Beresford who presented his outstanding film Tender Mercies followed by a Q and A. Afterwards we we were privileged to gain an insight into his new project Ladies In Black that commenced filming in October 2017 in David Jones Sydney and The Blue Mountains.

Richard Brennan 2016 In 2016 we were privileged to have Richard Brennan the Associate Producer of the classic Australian film ‘Newsfront’ attend the screenings, introduce the film and take questions after the movie.
Richard Keys our former President gave a talk titled ‘Memories Of A Film Cameraman’ which included several newsreel footages of some of the great events ever filmed such as the 1950s floods in the Hunter Valley.
Katoomba 2018 Special Guest David Stratton was guest presenter. Some outstanding films and documentaries were included, see the above files.
